Yes, I love swimming in the ocean but also scuba diving! I’ve also had the opportunity to go out on the ocean for research cruises in the Gulf of Mexico.

Hi, yes, I have been lucky enough to have gone in the sea. I love being in the sea, paddling and swimming. I’ve also done a lot of scuba diving in the South Pacific collecting research on the health of the coral reefs and the fish populations.

I grew up in Greece, so I spent all my summers by the sea. I love snorkeling because it allows you to catch a glimpse of the underwater world. One time, while snorkeling with my dad, we found a Pinna, a bivalve mollusk that used to be a source of sea silk in the Mediterranean (you can Google it to see how big they are). Another favorite memory is from a summer when I visited Zakynthos Island and watched Loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta) in the National Sea Park from a boat.

I grew up only 30 minutes away from the seaside and was lucky enough to have grandparents who loved to sail and be at the sea, I learnt to swim and sail from a very young age and later in life was lucky enough to take Scuba Diving lesson in Egypt!
Learning how to read tides and look out for safe spaces to swim in the key is a very good skill to learn.

Yes, many times – like wading out to see the cages on an oyster farm. And just swimming in the sea a lot – but not for work πŸ™‚ And I’ve never been scuba diving or anything like that.

Yes, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to explore the beautiful waters of the Bahamas! I’ve gone swimming with friendly dolphins 🐬, glided alongside graceful sea turtles 🐒, with curious stingrays, and even had a thrilling encounter with some gentle nurse, reef and lemon sharks 🦈. The Bahamas, which is where I am from, is like an underwater paradise πŸŒ΄πŸŒŠπŸ˜„

Yes! I was in the sea just last week! It’s very cold this time of year but still fun. I love going swimming, diving, snorkelling, paddle-boarding and water skiing as well πŸ™‚ I was recently diving in Malta and I did my first ever dive at night time which was interesting

Yes, I love swimming and I love snorkeling. I grew up in Madagascar where the sea is warm and full of tropical fish It’s the Indian Ocean. I’ve also been to the sea in France (the Atlantic Ocean, North and Mediterranean seas) and in New Zealand in the Pacific Ocean! I’ve recently been swimming in Portobelo beach in Edinburgh but it’s too cold for me!

I have done all the usual things in the sea. When I was very small I paddled and giggled. When I was bigger I swam near the shore, and in Scottish sea-lochs when they were warm (not very often!). I have walked in the sea up to my chest when I wanted to put equipment in it. The equipment measured the temperature of the water and how fast the water moves. And I have fallen off a boat into the sea and was very glad to be pulled out and warmed up with soup and biscuits.

Yes, I SCUBA dive regularly either for fun or to collect biodiversity data on marine wildlife. If I can’t SCUBA dive, I like to snorkel instead! I have also worked out at sea on a small boat, doing ecological monitoring and surveying of seabirds, sharks, and seals. I collect data on marine mammals while on ferry crossings as well! I love being at sea. πŸ™‚

Depends on what you mean by in the sea – I have waded in the sea a lot while collecting samples and capturing fish and have occasionally swum (badly) in the sea for leisure or to retrieve boats. I have also snorkelled but I have never dived with an aqualung.

I’ve done some scuba diving, but I didn’t like it very much – it’s pretty cold around a lot of the UK! Luckily, my work only involves me crawling around in the mud.

Yeah I’ve been in many times! Swimming, playing and falling! I used to work out on salmon farms and I fell into the sea many times when walking across the floating salmon cage!
