I like bits of it. Honestly PhDs are always very up and down, I don’t think anyone enjoys the whole thing. I love research though, and problem solving. I’m definitely looking forward to being done and moving into a job I feel more stable in and have more of a team in.

Like all jobs my job has its fun and less fun parts but on the whole I do like my job. I enjoy inspiring the next generation of marine scientists that I teach. I also love going to sea to collect samples then coming back to the lab to discover the types of life (based on their DNA) the mud and waters contain.
