Amina Moss answered on 13 Nov 2023:
Ooh this is hard. It’s my life, really! Whenever I travel somewhere and I have extra time, I either go swimming or visit their marine/science museums, that’s how much I like marine sciences. So out of ten, I would say 9/10. It’s fascinating to see the diverse water bodies in the many places around the world;

Anton Edwards answered on 13 Nov 2023:
I like it 8/10. I subtract one mark for not liking sea-sickness. And I subtract one mark for not getting enough exercise when sailing in a ship for long periods. Biology is only one part of marine science, so I enjoy the mixture of physics, chemistry, geology, engineering, biology and all sorts of experts.

Karen Edwards answered on 13 Nov 2023:
I’d say 9/10 mostly because some days I have LOTS of meetings which aren’t always either fun or interesting. But, for the most part, I love the work I do.

James Bron answered on 13 Nov 2023:
I give it a 10/10 – doing scientific research and creating / gaining knowledge is a joyful, interesting, exciting, creative job with no two days the same (for the research bit…) so I love it. There is also a lot of tedious stuff that I have to do but that is outside the research. To be honest, I might be just as happy doing another kind of science, working in technology, engineering or mathematics, which all share these features of creativity and excitement, but as a core marine biologist / parasitologist I can say that I enjoy marine science a lot.

Tanya Riley answered on 13 Nov 2023:
9/10. The only reason it is not 10/10 is because I am not the biggest fan of oceanography (a part of marine science). But I still have to use it in my job sometimes. But otherwise I wouldn’t have any other job in the world and even when not at work I am always doing something related to the sea. I just love it!

9.999 – it’s such a diverse discipline that there is something in it for everyone!

Stephanie Horn answered on 16 Nov 2023:
I would give marine science a 10/10. But I might be a bit bias! I like the biological sciences more than physics or chemistry.
