I’m Jayde, a Marine Biology graduate from Dorset (England) who currently works and lives up in Scotland!
When I am not at work as a Research laboratory technician I can be found watching Youtube and playing with my cat Noot 🐈⬛, or upside down in the air as I enjoy aerial sports in my spare time.
During school and college my interests were Biology, Chemistry, Photography and Theatre Studies. Even now as an adult, I still get to enjoy these interests through my work and spare time and am very happy with the choices I made throughout my school years.
My pronouns are:
I work as a clinical laboratory supervisor and researcher in Scotland. We use advanced machines to look into the blood profiles of fish, which allows us to see how healthy or unhealthy they are.
My job as a clinical laboratory supervisor and researcher can differ from day to day. On an average day I get to analyse 200 or more fish blood samples, using an advanced automated machine, which allows me to see the health profile (different levels of vitamins, minerals and substances) within the fish’s blood.
We use a similar method to analysing our own human blood, which you might need to do at the doctors, and can get results in as little as 30 minutes! Once we understand the health profile of the fish we can let the fish vets know, who can then treat the fish with medicines or foods, should they need it.
